Cotswold Cycles has reviewed and reflected on the Government announcement and guidance of March 23rd. The Government guidance includes Bike Shops in the essential group of retail business that are not being asked to close at this time. Link to this guidance is below.

We therefore are planning to continue operating the shop

  • to complete the bike servicing jobs.
  • to build the new bikes for customers.
  • to take new orders so that people can get regular safe exercise.

We will be running with less staff in the shop as we have some staff members who have underlying health conditions who will be supporting the business remotely from their homes.

 We ask our customers

  • to contact the shop (by phone on 01608 650933 or email info@cotswoldcycles.co.uk) to book either a sales or servicing appointment. We will also be making appointments for bike collection.
  • to wait outside the shop until a member of staff can help you.
  • to have patience while we work through our new operating procedures and deal with the high volume of servicing and new bikes sales.
  • to pay for goods and services prior to collection
    • via PayPal using salescotswoldcycles@gmail.com
    • or call us on 01608 650933 to make card payment
  • to collect your items from outside the shop at the agreed time so that we can prevent multiple collection at the same timeIf any of our customers are feeling unwell, we ask you not to come to the store until you have recovered.
  • If any of our customers are feeling unwell, we ask you not to come to the store.

We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers and will review best practice regularly, daily if necessary. We are vigorously implementing the highest standards we practically can of transmission prevention in the store including for instance regular cleaning of all frequent hand-touch points such as the PDQ (Card payment) machines and the counter area. Our staff will observe the 2 metre distance rule from customers and colleagues. Hand washing facilities are available and all our staff are committed to regular hand washing. You can be assured of a warm welcome as ever when you enter the shop but we ask you to respect our policy of no shaking of hands or physical contact.

These are very challenging times for all of us. We are committed to rallying together with our customers and suppliers to face down these challenges.

In the meantime, keeping fit and active is something you can do safely and within the guidelines for social distancing. There are few more rewarding ways of doing that than cycling so keep pedalling, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.
